The Rivers State University, formerly known as The Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST), is a globally recognized Nigerian university, owned and managed by the Rivers State Government. The university is located in the Diobu area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. RSUST was first established as a College of Science and Technology in 1972, before being granted independent university status in 1980 and was renamed from College of Science and Technology to Rivers State University of Science and Technology. The university has its main campus at Nkpolu Oroworukwo in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The Rivers State University, RSUST has an estimated student population of around 36,400 spread across all its nine (9) faculties, with a staff strength of about 3,000. It is worth noting that the Rivers state university is the first established technological university in Nigeria and also the first university cited within the Niger Delta region and also the first Nigerian University to award Bachelor’s degree in Marine engineering.

RSUST courses are fully accredited and recognized by the National University Commission (NUC) a body overseeing all tertiary institutions (Universities) in Nigeria.

If you have found your desired course, you can enrol in the Bachelor’s degree programs either through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), by Direct Entry, or through the Pre-degree Programme.
Basically, the purpose of the entry requirement is to ensure that those admitted have the necessary preparedness to scale through the program. There is a compulsory screening test for all eligible candidates.
