JAMB Subject Combination For Petroleum Engineering

To study Petroleum Engineering in any accredited university or polytechnic in Nigeria, here is the Jamb and Waec subject combination and requirements

Note that English Language is Compulsory for all courses in UTME.

FUTO offers this course with options in:
(i) Drilling & Exploration Engineering Technology.
(ii) Reservoir Engineering Technology.
(iii) Natural Engineering Technology.
(iv) Petroleum Production Engineering.

UTME subject includes;

Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics

O’Level Requirements
You need;
Five (5) WASSC credits to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English Language and any one Science subject.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) UNIBEN – As in Chemical Engineering.

(ii) FUTO and IBADAN – As in Agricultural and Environmental Engineering.

(iii) NDU requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and any other subject at not more than two (2) sittings.

(iv) NTNU – Same as in Computer Engineering.

(v) OSUSTECH and UNILAG requires ‘O’ level credit pass in Further Mathematics.

Direct Entry Requirements

You need;
‘A’ level passes to include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS

(i) BAUCHI accepts ND/HND in related Engineering programmes plus UTME requirements.

(ii) FUTO requires at least three (3) ‘A’ level passes not below C in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Requires ND/HND upper credit in Engineering in addition to UTME requirements. Does not accept first degree or NCE.

(iii) IGBINEDION accepts two (2) ‘A’ level passes to include Physics plus one of Mathematics and Chemistry. Accepts ND in Engineering related programmes.

(iv) UNILAG – Same as in Chemical Engineering.

(v) NDU and UI – As in Agricultural Engineering.

(vi) NTNU – Same as in Computer Engineering.

(vii) OSUSTECH, ABUAD, FUTO and UNIBEN – As in Chemical Engineering.

(viii) UNIPORT – No direct entry.

(ix) RSUST as in Computer Engineering

(x) UNIUYO accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes plus UTME requirements.
