JAMB subject combination and requirements for Education and Geography

To study Education and Geography in any accredited university or polytechnic in Nigeria, here is the Jamb and Waec subject combination and requirements you need to look out for.
Note that English Language is Compulsory for all courses in UTME.
The required UTME subjects includes;
Geography plus two (2) other Social Sciences/Arts subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) OOU do not accept Arts subjects.
(ii) UNIBEN accepts Geography, Mathematics and any other subject.
(iii) LASU requires Geography, Government or Economics.
(iv) DELSU requires Geography and two (2) of the following
Mathematics, Economics and Government.
(v) IBBU requires other subjects from the Sciences.
(vi) UNIILORIN and UNILAG do not accept Physics.
(vii) IAUE requires any three (3) subjects.
(viii) UNILAG accepts any three (3) Of Literature in English, History/
Government, French/Arabic, Geography, Mathematics, any Nigerian
Language, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies, Economics/
Commerce.
(ix) KSU accepts any Science subject in addition to the Arts and Social
Science.
(x) MAUTECH requires Geography and any two (2) of Economics,
Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or Biology/Agricultural Science.
(xi) AAUA accepts Geography, Mathematics and any other Social
Science or Science subject.
(xii) TASUED requires any three (3) subjects from Geography,
Economics, Government, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Physics,
Agricultural Science, Accounting and Commerce.
(xiii) UNIMAID requires Geography and two (2) other subjects.

O’Level Requirements
You need;
Five (5) WASSC credit passes to include Geography, English Language and
Mathematics.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIPORT, UNICAL, UDUSOK, and UNIUYO accept ‘O’ Level pass in
Mathematics.
(ii) UNIABUJA and UDUSOK accept ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.
(iii) OOU and ABSU require Government or Economics.
(iv) EKSU requires two (2) Social Science subjects.
(v) OAU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in Geography/Physics and any
two (2) of Economics, Government, Mathematics and History.
(vi) UNIBEN requires Mathematics, Geography/Physics and one (1)
other Social Science subject.
(vii) UNILAG requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English
Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two (2) of Literature in
English, History/Government, French, Biology, Chemistry, any Nigerian
Language, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies, Economics,
Integrated Science, Civic Education/Social Studies.
(viii) MAUTECH and ABU accept TC II and five (5) relevant subjects.
(x) IMSU accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.
(xi) UNIBEN accepts NCE General Mathematics/General English in lieu
of ‘O’ Level Mathematics/English Language.
(ix) IBBU requires other subjects from the Sciences.
(xii) UMYU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes which must
include English Language, Mathematics, Geography and any two (2) of
Chemistry, Physics, Economics, Biology or Agricultural Science.
(xiii) LASU requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Mathematics and does not
accept Physics in lieu of Geography.
(xiv) MAUTECH same as in Education Mathematics.
(xv) UNIMAID accepts ‘O’ Level pass in English Language.
(xvii) ABU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include
Geography/Physics, English Language and Mathematics and any other
two (2) subjects from Chemistry, Physics or Biology.
(xviii) UNICAL requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include
English Language, Mathematics and any other Social Science subject.
(xix) BUK requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include
Geography/Physics, English language and any other three (3) Social
Science subjects. Offers Geography/Physics with Science combination.
Geography/Physics with two (2) other Science subjects i.e. Physics,
Biology/Chemistry.
(xx) KSU, UNILORIN and IAUE do not accept ‘O’ Level credit pass in
Physics In lieu of Geography.
(xxi) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English
Language, Mathematics and Geography and any other two (2) Social
Science or Science subjects. (xxii) DELSU requires at least five (5) ‘O’
Level credit which must include English Language, Geography and
Mathematics and two other subjects.
(xxiii) TASUED requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credits at one sitting or six
(6) ‘O’ Level credits at two (2) sittings in English Language,
Geography, Mathematics and any two (2) or three (3) from Social
Science or Science subjects

Direct Entry Requirements
You need;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit which should include Geography /
Physics.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNILAG requires very good passes in three (3) JUPEB subjects (a)
Geography and any two (2) of Economics, Government/History,
Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies, Igbo/Yoruba. (b) Two (2)
‘A’ Level passes in relevant teaching subjects.
(ii) UNIBEN requires two (2) or three (3)NCE merit including
Geography/Physics plus three (3) or two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes
including English Language. and Mathematics at one (1) sitting.
(iii) EKSU and JOS accepts General English at NCE in lieu of credit in
‘O’ Level English Language or TC II merit.
(iv) IAUE requires ‘A’ Level passes in Geography and any other Science
subject, Economics or Government.
(v) MAUTECH accepts NCE merit plus three (3) relevant credits ‘O’
Level passes /TC II
(vi) EDSU Same as in Education Biology.
(viii) UNILORIN accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit which
should include Geography/Physics and Economics or Government/
Political Science. Preference will be given to NCE holders for Direct
Entry. General English at NCE is not acceptable as a replacement for
‘O’ Level credit pass in English Language.
(ix) UMYU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in Geography/Physics and
any other Science subject. NCE merit in Geography/Physics and any
other Science subject is also acceptable.
(x) MAUTECH accepts ‘A’ Level passes or its equivalent in two (2)
relevant subjects /NCE distinction, merit or credit.
(xi) OAU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in relevant subjects which
must include Geography/Physics plus other subject chosen from
Economics, Mathematics, Business Methods and Government or NCE
Social Studies combined with any Social Science subject may be
accepted.
(xii) ABU accepts (a) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit in
Geography/Physics and Education. (b) IJMB/’A’ Level passes with C
grade in Geography/Physics. (c) LASU does not accept Physics In lieu
of Geography. (d) TASUED requires two (2)’A’ Level passes or NCE
merit in Geography and one (1) of Social Science subjects.
(xiv) AAUA accepts (e) NCE merit in Education, Geography and one
(1) of Economics, Government, Mathematics or other relevant subject.
(f) two (2) ‘A’ Level passes from Geography, Government/History and
Economics. (g) ND in Environmental Management, Geography,
Information System; ND upper credit in Town Planning and Estate
Management.
(xiv) UMYU accepts ‘A’ Level passes in Geography and any other
Science subject, Economics or Government. NCE credit in Geography
and any other Science or Social Science subjects.
(xv) DELSU requires; a) NCE merit passes and above in Geography
and any other Social Science subject. b) ‘A’ Level credit passes must
include Geography.
(xvi) TASUED requires; a) two (2) ‘A’ Level/NCE merit in Geography
and any one of Social Science subject.
