JAMB subject combination and requirements for Education and French

To study Education and French in any accredited university or polytechnic in Nigeria, here is the Jamb and Waec subject combination and requirements you need to look out for.
Note that English Language is Compulsory for all courses in UTME.

The UTME subjects includes;
French plus two (2) other Arts subjects.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) UNIBEN accepts Literature in English and two (2) other Arts or
Social Science subjects.
(ii) UNILAG accepts any three (3) of Literature in English, History/
Government, French/Arabic, Geography, Mathematics, any Nigerian
Language, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic Studies, Economics/
Commerce.
(iii) At IAUE, French is not compulsory.
(iv) DELSU accepts one Arts subject and any other two (2) subject.
(v) TASUED requires any three (3) subjects.

O’Level Requirements
You need;
Five (5) WASSC credit passes to include English Language and French.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) BUK, UNIBEN, OAU, UNILORIN, EKSU, UNIZIK and LASU, accepts
TC II merit in five (5) subjects.
(ii) UNIBEN requires other subjects chosen from History/Government,
Fine Arts, Christian Religious Studies, Literature in English plus English
Language.
(iii) IMSU, ALVAN and UNN accept any other two (2) subjects.
(iv) UNIZIK accepts any three (3) Arts or Social Science subjects
(v) ABSU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language and
Mathematics.
(vi) UNIPORT require a credit pass in Literature in English
(vii) UMYU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes in English
Language, French and any other three (3) Arts subjects with ‘O’ Level
credit pass in Mathematics.
(viii) DELSU requires GCE ‘O’ Level credit passes in at least five (5)
subjects including English Language, French and Literature and any
other two (2) subjects.
(ix) TASUED requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes at one (1) sitting
or six (6) ‘O’ Level credits passes at two (2) sittings to include English
language, French and any other Arts or Social Science subjects.
(x) UNICAL requires ‘O’ Level pass in Mathematics.
(xi) ABSU requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English
Language, French and any three (3) subjects.
(xii) OAU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes or TC merit/credit in five (5)
subjects including English Language and French.
(xiii) IAUE requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English
Language, Mathematics and any other three (3) Arts or Social Science
subjects.
(xiv) LASU requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Mathematics.
(xv) UNILAG requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes including English
Language, Mathematics, and any three (3) of French/Arabic,
Literature in English, any Nigerian Language, History/Government,
Geography, Economics/Commerce, Christian Religious Studies/Islamic
Studies, Civic Education/Social Studies.

Direct Entry Requirements
You need;
Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit in French and one(1) other Arts subject.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATION (WAIVER) REMARKS
(i) ALVAN and UDUSOK accept ND plus four (4) ‘O’ Level credit
passes and admits NCE holders to 300 level.
(ii) UNICAL accepts NCE General English Language in lieu of credit
pass in ‘O’ Level English Language.
iii) UNIBEN requires. (a) two (2) or three (3)’O’ Level credit passes
including English Language and others from Literature in English,
Religious Studies, Fine Arts, French, History/Government plus three (3)
or two (2) NCE merit including French. (b) two (2)’A’ Level passes in
relevant subjects plus the UTME requirements.
(iv) UMYU requires two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in the subject of
specialization and any other Arts subject. Also accepts NCE credit in
French.
(v) TASUED accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes/NCE merit in French and
any other subject in Arts and Social Science subjects or the equivalent
of ‘A’ Level ND in French. Diploma de 1’Alliance Fransaise 2e degree.
Students must pass French before graduation.
(vi) OAU accepts two (2) ‘A’ Level passes which must include French
and one (1) other Arts or Professional subject. Candidates with ‘A’
Level pass in French double major or combined or NCE French double
major are eligible for admission with or without ‘O’ Level French.
(viii) UNILAG accepts a. NCE merit/credit French and any other two
(2) Arts subjects and NFLV ND/Modules I-III. b. very good passes in
three (3) JUPEB subjects: French and any two (2)passes in Literature
in English, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Igbo/Yoruba,
Government/History. c. Two (2) ‘A’ Level passes in relevant teaching
subjects. d. candidate must satisfy the UTME requirements
(ix) DELSU requires; a) At least merit passes in French and any other
subject at the NCE b) ‘A’ Level passes should include French and
any other Arts subjects.
