To study Chemistry in any accredited university or polytechnic in Nigeria, here is the Jamb and Waec subject combination and requirements you need to look out for.

Note that English Language is Compulsory for all courses in UTME.

The UTME Subjects includes;
Chemistry and any two of Physics, Biology and Mathematics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS REMARKS :
(1) MAUTECH and AAUA accept Agricultural Science.
(2) FUTMINNA, MOUAU and RSUST require Chemistry, Mathematics and either Physics or Biology.
(3) UNAAB, AJAYI, IGBINEDION and UNIBADAN require chemistry, Physics and Biology or Mathematics.
(4) FUTO, FED-LAFIA, ADELEKE, UNIPORT, ABU and DELSU requires Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics only.
(5) AUN requires Mathematics, plus any other subjects from the following; Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, Biology, Further Mathematics, Literature in English, Government, History, Economics, Geography, Technical Drawing, Visual Arts, Computer Studies, Information Technology, Civics, and French.
(6) NTNU accepts any Science subjects.
(7) WESTERN-DEL requires Chemistry and two of Physics, Biology and Mathematics.
(8) UNIBEN requires chemistry, Physics, Biology or Mathematics.
(9) TASU requires Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
(10) EVANGEL requires Chemistry, Mathematics and any of Physics, Geography or Biology.
(11) UNILAG requires Chemistry, Physics and any of Biology or Mathematics.
(12) FED-LOKOJA requires Biology, Chemistry, and Physics/Mathematics.
(13) CRESCENT requires chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.

O’Level Requirements
You require;
Five (5) WASSC credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS REMARKS :
(1) IMSU accepts a pass in English Language under exceptional circumstances.
(2) ABU accept P.7 in English Language for candidates who show special ability in Mathematics and Physics
(3) UNICAL requires credit pass in Physics /Mathematics. UNICAL accepts P. 7 in English and one of Mathematics or Biology.
(4) BSU requires a credit pass in Mathematics.
(5) UNILORIN requires Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics or Biology for UNILORIN.
(6) OAU and AAU accept any other subject in lieu of Biology.
(7) UI requires 5 or 6 ‘O’ level credit passes at one or two sittings including English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology.
(8) GODFREY and KUST require five ‘O’ level credit passes including English Language, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and any other Science subject.
(9) ADELEKE and UNIBEN accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
(10) AJAYI accepts Geography in lieu of Physics.
(11) UNIUYO requires a credit pass in English Language
(12) UMYU requires at least five O/Level credits at not more than two sittings, which must include English Language, Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry.
(13) LAUTECH requires Passes at Credit level to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology.
(14) CRESCENT accepts credit pass in Agric. Science in lieu of Biology.
(15) UNIPORT requires Mathematics and does not accept Biology.
(16) NTNU accepts English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any other two Science subjects. (xxi) GOUU same as in Biological Sciences.
(17) MOUAU requires five SSCE credit passes in not more than two sittings to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and any other relevant Science subject.
(18) KSU and REDEEMER’S require Five ‘O’ Level credit passes to include English Language, Chemistry Mathematics, Physics and Biology/Agricultural Science.
(19) FUAM accepts credit passes in either Geography or Statistics in lieu of Biology.
(20) WESTERN-DEL requires five SSCE credit passes which must include Chemistry, English Language, Physics, Mathematics and either
Biology or Agriculture.
(21) NDU requires the five ‘O’ level credit passes in not more than two sittings.
(22) KSU and UNN Accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology.
(23) KWASU requires credit passes from English Language, Mathematics and any three of Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Further Mathematics and Agricultural Science.
(24) NDA requires the fifth subject from Physics, Agricultural Science, Geography or Health Science.
(25) FUTMINNA requires five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry and any other two subjects from Physics, Biology, Further Mathematics, geography and Technical
Drawing.
(26) FED-DUTSE accepts ND, HND, NCE, IJMB in addition to five (5) O/level
Credit passes in Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics/Physics.

Direct Entry Requirements
You require;
(i) Two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology.
(ii) ND/NCE with good grades in relevant ‘O’ level subjects

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS REMARKS :
(i) RHEMA, OAU, ILORIN, UNN, OOU, BENIN, EKSU and BOWEN do not accept Biology.
(ii) AAU accepts ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics or Biology.
(iii) AUE and UNIILORIN require ‘A’ level passes in Physics and Chemistry. AUE accepts ND upper credit in Science and Technology
with Chemistry option from recognised Polytechnics.
(iv) UI, UNN, UNILAG and OAU do not accept ND/NCE.
(v) MAUTECH does not accept NCE.
(vi) MINNA accepts NCE credit and ND/HND lower credit in addition to ‘O’ level credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry and two (2) other
Science subjects.
(vii) UNIBEN in addition to the UTME requirements, accepts
(a) ND upper credit, HND lower credit in Polymer Chemistry or Science Laboratory Technology and relevant programmes.
(b) NCE merit with ‘O’ level credit passes in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.
(viii) UDU, BAYERO, MAIDUGURI and LASU accept NCE Chemistry major.
(ix) UNIILORIN accepts NCE Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics.
(x) FUNAAB same as in Biochemistry.
(xi) UNIJOS accepts Chemistry and Physics.
(xii) MAUTECH accepts ‘O’ level pass in Biology.
(xiii) UNIPORT – No Direct Entry
(xiv) MINNA accepts NCE credit, ND/HND lower credit in addition to
‘O’ Level credit passes in Mathematics, Chemistry and two (2) other Science subjects.
(xv) UNIUYO accepts ND upper credit and HND lower credit in relevant programmes plus the UTME requirements.
(xvi) BAYERO accepts ND upper credit and NCE in relevant subjects with B grades.
(xvii) DELSU and UMUDIKE require ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics or Physics.
(xviii) EKSU accepts ND upper credit.
(xix) BSU accepts NCE merit, ND upper credit in relevant programmes plus five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at a sitting
(xx) IGBINEDION accepts ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry plus Physics or Biology, ND in Science Technology with relevant ‘O’ level requirements.
(xxi) AAUA requires ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and also accepts ND upper credit in Chemistry or other related programmes.
(xxii) KUST accepts IJMB, NCE, HND credit, ND upper credit in Chemistry, Biology, Physics or any relevant subject/programme.
(xxiii) AAU accepts NCE merit in Chemistry and any other Science subject.
(xxiv) AJAYI requires ‘A’ level passes in Biology and Chemistry or NCE in Chemistry and Physics plus the UTME requirements.
(xxv) CUAB accepts IJAMB at acceptable grade levels.
(xxvi) FUTO requires two (2) ‘A’ level passes not below Grade C in Chemistry and one (1) of Physics and Mathematics. It accepts ND/HND upper credit in relevant programmes. Candidates must in addition meet the UTME requirements. It does not accept First Degree and NCE.
(xxvii) UMYUK accepts candidates with ND/HND lower credit in Chemistry as major or its equivalent from a recognized institution. NCE candidates must have Chemistry as a major with any of Physics,
Biology, Mathematics or other relevant subjects or certificate from a recognized university with a minimum of nine (9) points.
(xxviii) NCE Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics plus ‘O’ level credit pass in Mathematics
(xxix) AL-HIKMAH accepts two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any other relevant subject and accepts ND in Science Laboratory Technology.
(xxx) BOWEN same as in Biochemistry
(xxxi) WESLEYUNI accepts (a) two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology in that order
(xxxiv) MAKURDI accepts
(a) UTME requirements plus `’A’ level passes in Chemistry and one (1) other relevant Science subject may be admitted to 200 level .
(b) HND upper credit in relevant programmes who possess the UTME requirements may also be admitted to the 200 level . (c) NCE with
two (2) ‘O’ level credit passes in relevant subjects, which must include Chemistry, and those who possess the UTME requirements
may be admitted to 200 level.
(xxxv) WESTERN-DEL accepts
(a) two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics.
(b) ND/HND lower credit in Science Laboratory Technology SLT, or Polymer Chemistry in the relevant programme from a recognized
Polytechnic.
(c) NCE credit in Chemistry and either Physics or Mathematics from a recognized College of Education. In addition, candidates should have
an overall merit.
(xxxvi) UNN does not accept ‘A’ level Biology.
(xxxvii) TSUJ
(a) Requires three (3) ‘A’ level passes which must include Chemistry combination.
(b) Accepts NCE merit and ND/HND credit in related programmes in addition to the UTME requirements.
(xxxviii) GOUU requires two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and any one (1) of Physics, Mathematics or Biology. ND/NCE with good grade in relevant ‘O’ level subjects.
(xxxix) KWASU – Same as in Mathematics.
(xl) CRUTECH accepts
a) For Chemistry ND upper credit in Science Laboratory Technology, HND lower credit in Food Technology, NCE merit in Chemistry and any
other Science subject, IJMB B grade in Chemistry and any other Science subject.
b) For Biochemistry ND upper credit in Science Laboratory Technology, HND lower credit in Food Technology, NCE merit in Chemistry and Biology, IJMB B grade in Chemistry and Biology.
(xli) MCPHERSON accepts HND lower credit, ND upper credit in Chemistry, Physics, Biology and any other relevant programme. ‘O’ level credit passes in any two (2) of Biology, Physics and Mathematics
in addition to ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Biology.
(xlii) CALEB – Same as Microbiology and Industrial Biotechnology.
(xliii) NDU accepts
a. ND upper credit in Chemistry or any of the Sciences or Applied Sciences, e.g. Engineering, etc or NCE merit.
b. Higher ND HND in Chemistry and in addition must have five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes obtained at not more than two (2) sittings in English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
(xliv) NTNU – Same as in Computer Science.
(xlv) EBSU accepts HND, ND upper credit and NCE merit respectively in the relevant programme/subjects. It accepts only ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Mathematics.
(xlvi) SOUTHWESTERN accepts
(a) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Physics or Mathematics or Biology.
(b) ND upper credit, HND lower credit in Polymer Chemistry or Science Laboratory Technology in relevant programmes.
(xlvii) UNILAG accepts
(a) very good passes in the following three JUPEB/’A’ level subjects: Chemistry, Physics and any one (1) of Mathematics and Biology.
(b) Candidates must satisfy the UTME requirements
(xlviii) MOUNTAIN TOP ND and HND credit may be considered for 200 and 300 levels respectively.
(xlix) PLASU accepts
a) degree in any programme provided the candidate meets the UTME requirements.
b) HND lower credit in relevant programme, with the UTME requirements.
c) ND lower credit in relevant programmes with the UTME requirements
d) IJMB minimum of seven (7) points with passes in relevant subjects, with the UTME requirements. e) PLASU does not accept University diplomas and other diplomas not accredited by the relevant accrediting bodies
