To study Agriculture in any accredited university or polytechnic in Nigeria, here is the Jamb and Waec subject combination and requirements you need to look out for.

Note that English Language is Compulsory for all courses in UTME.

The UTME subjects include;
Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and any one of Physics or Mathematics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS (UTME)
(i) UNIILORIN, UDUSOK and IMSU accept Economics or Geography in
lieu of Physics/Mathematics.
(ii) IBB requires Chemistry, Physics and Biology
(iii) ABU requires Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and Mathematics.
(iv) ABUAD requires Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics.
(v) LANDMARK – Same as in Agricultural Economics .
(vi) KSU requires Chemistry, Biology and any of Physics, Agricultural
Science and Mathematics
(vii) FED-DUTSINMA requires Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture and
Mathematics/Physics

O’Level Requirements

Five (5) WASSC credit passes to include English Language, Biology/
Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any one of Mathematics, Physics,
Geography and Economics.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS (WASSC)
(i) UI requires five (5) credit passes including English Language,
Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics and any one of
Geography, Physics or Economics
(ii) MOUA accepts Five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes at not more than two
(2) sittings to include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry,
Biology, or Agricultural Science and any other science subjects;
requires at least ‘O’ level pass in Physics. ‘O’ level credit in
Agricultural Science must be backed up with at least ‘O’ level pass in
Biology
(iii) OOU, EKSU and UNIILORIN accept ‘O’ level pass in Physics.
(iv) IMSU accepts a pass in Maths if a candidate has credit in Physics
and vice versa.
(vi) ABU requires credits in Mathematics and Physics. Also requires
five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Biology/
Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Geography and
Economics.
(vii) UI, EKSU, UNIILORIN and TASUED require ‘O’ level credit in
Agricultural Science and a pass in Biology.
(viii) UDUSOK and AAU accept ‘O’ level pass in English Language.
(ix) BIU requires at least ‘O’ level pass in Physics.
(x) BAYERO requires five (5) O’ level credit passes to include English
Language, Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry and any one (1) of
Mathematics/Physics, Geography.
(xi) FED-WUKARI requires five (5) O’ level credit passes at not more
than two sittings to include: English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, or Agricultural Science and any of Physics, Geography and Economics.
(xii) KSU requires five (5) credit passes at SSC in English Language,
Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science, Economics or
any other Science/Social science subject and a pass in Physics.A credit
in Agricultural Science must be backed up with at least ‘O’ level pass
in Biology.
(xiii) FED-OYE EKITI requires ‘O’ level credit pass in Physics and consideration can be given to candidates with ‘O’ level credit in
Mathematics and ‘O’ level pass in Physics.
(xv) BABCOCK requires five (5) ‘O’ level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology/Agriculture
Science, Physics/Geography, Home Economics/Food &Nutrition.
(xiv) ABUAD requires ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language,
Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and Physics.
(xv) LANDMARK – Same as in Agricultural Economics
(xvi) FED-DUTSINMA requires five (5) SSC credit passes in English
Language, Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, Mathematics and
Physics/Geography/Economics.

Direct Entry Requirements
Two (2) A level passes in Chemistry and one from Biology/Botany/
Zoology/ Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, Geography and
Geology/Mathematics (Pure & Applied).

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS (DIRECT ENTRY)
(i) ABSU and MAIDUGURI accept ND Agriculture into 100 level
programme. (200 Level for EDSU).
(ii) IBB and UNIILORIN require ‘A’ level passes in both Chemistry and
Biology.
(iii) UNIMAID,UNIIBADAN and AAU accept NCE merit in Agriculture
double major.
(iv) IMSU – accepts ND/NCE Double Major or HND in Agriculture or
related disciplines with at least a merit pass into 200 level and HND
(Upper Credit) into 300 level.
(v) UDUSOK and ABU accept ND distinction, HND credit, NCE double
major at credit level in Agriculture. UDUSOK accepts ND Upper credit
and HND lower credit.
(vi) UI and MOUA accept ND or HND in the related fields. UI
Agricultural candidates must apply to read Agriculture Until 500 level
when options will be available.
(vii) AAU accepts Chemistry, Biology or Agriculture at ‘A’ level and ND
upper credit in Agricultural Science and HND Agriculture not below
credit pass. Also accepts ND/NCE credit in Agricultural Science with at
least a pass in Physics at ‘O’ level.
(viii) EBSU and MOUA accept ND distinction/credit, HND credit into
200 level while those with ND lower credit NCE Double Major at
credit/merit level in Agriculture are admitted into 100 level.
(ix) MOUA requires ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/
Zoology/Agricultural Science.
(x) UNIILORIN accepts ND/NCE credit pass in Agriculture into 200
level while those with HND may be admitted into 300 level. Also
accepts NCE merit in Biology, Chemistry or Agriculture, and ND merit
in Banking/Finance, Business Management plus UTME requirements
(xi) IBB and DELSU accept ND upper credit in Agriculture plus five
(5) relevant credit passes at SSC.
(xii) BIU accept ND/NCE distinction or credits into 200 level.
(xiii) EKSU requires a minimum of credit pass in Physics and accepts
ND upper credit in Agriculture related programs. Forestry Assistant
Certificate from IITA, Ibadan or any other relevant Higher Institution.
(xiv) KUST accepts NCE merit and ND in Chemistry/Biology upper
credit/any relevant qualification.
(xv) KSUSTA accepts NCE in Agricultural Science.
(xvi) BOWEN accepts NCE/ND or approved equivalent in relevant
programs, IJMB at acceptable levels. For Food Science and Technology,
at least ‘O’ level pass in Physics is required.
(xvii) BIU requires in addition to the ‘O’ level requirements specified in
the table above, a minimum of two (2) relevant subjects passed at
GCE ‘A’ level or NCE merits or ND in relevant programs not below
credit level.
(xviii) ABU accepts
(i) Two (2) A level/IJMB passes in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/
Zoology/Agricultural Science, Economics, Physics, Geography and
Geology/Mathematics (Pure & Applied).
(ii) HND in Agriculture related field of study with a minimum of a
credit Pass.
(xix) BAYERO accepts
a) ND.
b) NCE Agriculture double major.
c) NCE in Biology and Chemistry.
(xx) FED-OYE EKITI accepts ND, NCE with good passes in Chemistry,
Biology/Agricultural Science as well as credits at ‘O’ level.
(xxi) ABUAD requires ‘A’ level passes or its equivalent qualifications as
approved by the Senate in at least two (2) subjects to include Biology
and any of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
(xxii) FED-DUTSINMA requires two (2) ‘A’ level passes in Chemistry and Biology/Botany/Agricultural Science/Zoology/Physics.
