JAMB subject combinations and requirements for Chemical Engineering

(i) Nuclear Engineering Technology.
(ii) Chemical Engineering Technology.
(iii) Biochemical Engineering Technology.

To study Chemical Engineering in any accredited university or polytechnic in Nigeria, here is the Jamb and Waec subject combination and requirements you need to look out for.

Note that English Language is Compulsory for all courses in UTME.

The UTME Subjects includes;
Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION REMARKS
(i) NTNU accepts any three Science subjects.

O’Level Requirements

Five WASSC credit passes to include Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English Language and any other Science subject.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION REMARKS
(i) ESUT accepts a pass in English Language.
(ii) FUTO accepts any other Science subjects as the fifth subject and in not more than two (2) sittings.
(iii) OSUSTECH and UNILAG requires a credit pass in Further Mathematics as the fifth subject.
(vi) UNIILORIN accepts Agricultural Science in lieu of Biology
(v) MAUTECH requires Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Technical Drawing, Geography, Further Mathematics.

Direct Entry Requirements
You need;
‘A’ level passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATION REMARKS
(i) ABU accepts
a) ‘A’ level/IJMB passes in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
b) ND upper credit in Chemical Engineering from accredited institution
c) HND lower credit in Chemical Engineering from any accredited Institution.UYO accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes plus UTME requirements.
(ii) ABUAD accepts HND lower credit and ND upper credit in addition to UTME requirements into 200 level.
(iii) ABUJA accepts HND lower credit or ND upper credit in Chemical Engineering plus UTME requirements into 200 level.
(iv) BAUCHI accepts ND/HND in Chemical Engineering.
(v) UNIBEN – in addition to UTME requirements requires
(a) first degree Second Class Lower in Science or degree in Medicine, Dentistry or Pharmacy and PTI HND lower credit / ND upper credit.
(b) HND upper credit in Engineering/Technology and PTI upper credit
into 300 levels.
(c) ND / HND holders should have ‘A’ grade in Mathematics.
(vi) UNIBEN accepts HND lower credit and ND upper credit plus UTME
requirements.
(vii) CARITAS and UNIPORT – No Direct Entry.
(viii) COOU accepts ND/HND lower credit.
(ix) ESUTECH and UNIBEN require ‘A’ level passes in any two (2) of
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. ESUTECH also accepts NCE/ND/
HND/first degree with good grades and UTME requirements into 200 or 300 level respectively.
(x) FUTO requires at least three (3) ‘A’ level passes not below C in
Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry. Accepts ND/HND upper credit in
Engineering in addition to ‘O’ level requirements. It does not accept
first degree or NCE.
(xi) IGBINEDION accepts ND in Engineering and related programmes.
(xii) UNIILORIN – Same as Agricultural and Biosystem Engineering .
Relevant Programmes include Biomedical Engineering Technology,
Chemical Engineering Technology, Water and Environmental
Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Polymer
Engineering.
(xiii) UNILAG accepts
(a) very good passes in three (3) JUPEB/’A’ level subjects: Physics,
Mathematics, Chemistry.
(b) HND/ND distinction in related Engineering Course.
(c) Candidate must satisfy UTME requirements.
(xiv) LAUTECH accepts
a) ‘A’ Level Passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
b) ND/HND upper credit in related programmes plus the UTME
requirements may be considered for admission into 200 level.
(xv) UNIMAID accepts ND Credit and IJMB 9 points in related
programmes.
(xvi) MAUTECH accepts:
a) ND upper credit in Chemical Engineering
b) `A’ Level passes and IJMB in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics
(xvii) FUTMINNA accepts ND/HND lower credit in addition to UTME
requirements.
(xviii) NTNU – Same as in Computer Engineering.
(xix) OAU accepts ND upper credit in Chemical Engineering only.
(xxi) OSUSTECH accepts first degree from a recognized university in
the relevant subjects not below Second Class Lower.
(xxii) UYO accepts ND/HND in relevant programmes plus the UTME
requirements.
