5. Tanner Health System School of Nursing
Tanner Health System School of Nursing is the nursing school of the University of West Georgia. The BSN program is offered on two campuses of the institution namely; the Carrollton campus and the Newnan campus. The Carrollton campus offers a six (6) semester program while the Newnan campus offers an eight (8) semester program. The program is approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and also accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.
Although the Newnan BSN program is an eight-semester program and does not need full-time participation each semester (less than 12 semester credit hours), it does require attendance, mostly during the weekdays throughout the day. Although it is possible, it is not always guaranteed that clinical practices will take place in the evenings or on the weekends.
This program enables some students to work part-time or take care of family responsibilities, but it is not intended for students who want to have a full-time job. Also, students who wish to transfer their studies to the school must acquire at least 120 total semester hours and 12 Maximum hours transferable into the program.
